galaxy nails

hey guys!!! I'm SUPER excited, because today, we're going to do galaxy nails!!!!!!!!! they are a little complicated, so if you don't get it right the first time,  don't get too disappointed. this is a rather tough design. but, in light of the solar eclipse coming up, I figured you guys would want nails to match the occasion! so lets get started!!
you will need:
1. base/top coat
2. black polish
3. dark blue polish (I didn't have any polish, but acrylic paint works just as well)
4 a medium to light blue polish
5. white polish
6. small paint brush.
7. remover/Q-tips

begin by painting all of your nails in 2 coats of black, and wait for it to completely dry,

 now, here comes the rather tricky part. begin by painting a diagonal stripe across your nail

good, now take the medium (or light) blue, and apply it to the edges of the white, and then with your brush, try to blend it in with the white. one other thing I forgot to mention before, is that you don't want a defined line, make it very light.

now, take the dark blue polish (or acrylic paint...if your me) and do the same thing as you did with the medium/light blue.

now, take the brush, and  dip it in the white, then add some stars to your galaxy. (not too many!) then top coat, and your done! one thing I did (that isn't necessary, but does give it a really neat look) is I only put a galaxy  on two of my nails, I left the rest black, and put a matte top coat on top of them. but again, it isn't necessary.

there they are without matte top coat.

and there they are with matte top coat! so you can decide on which you like better. my preference is with the matte top coat, but it isn't necessary.
