french manicure

Image
hey everyone! today we are going to be doing...french nails!!! and, if you don't know what french nails are, it's when you paint just the white part of your nail. and just hearing it, it doesn't sound that pretty (at least not to me) but once you see it, you'll LOVE it. and this design can be done in either gel, or regular polish. either one will work. today, I will be using regular polish. So, let's stop wasting time, and get started!! what you will need will be: 1. base/top coat 2. color of your choice (french nails are traditionally white, but any color will look nice) 3.  a small paint brush 4. remover/Q-tips now, you will begin by painting the top half of your nail and it doesn't matter if it's straight or not,we'll clean it up later. also, be sure that the pink part of your nail is completely clean. so be sure to scrub off any old polish that may be left from your last nail design. now, take your thin paint rush, and dip it into...

galaxy nails

Image
hey guys!!! I'm SUPER excited, because today, we're going to do galaxy nails!!!!!!!!! they are a little complicated, so if you don't get it right the first time,  don't get too disappointed. this is a rather tough design. but, in light of the solar eclipse coming up, I figured you guys would want nails to match the occasion! so lets get started!! you will need: 1. base/top coat 2. black polish 3. dark blue polish (I didn't have any polish, but acrylic paint works just as well) 4 a medium to light blue polish 5. white polish 6. small paint brush. 7. remover/Q-tips begin by painting all of your nails in 2 coats of black, and wait for it to completely dry,  now, here comes the rather tricky part. begin by painting a diagonal stripe across your nail good, now take the medium (or light) blue, and apply it to the edges of the white, and then with your brush, try to blend it in with the white. one other thing I forgot to mention before, is that ...

Gel Basics

Hey guys!! Just as a heads up, today, we will be doing gel nails. So if you don't have gel polish, or a gel dryer, then there probably won't be anything for you in this post. (sorry😕) But you can check out my previous post , which is about applying regular nail polish. But back to the subject at hand, if you do have those things, (those things being gel nail polish and a UV/LED lamp) or you're planning on getting them soon, then keep on reading!! What you will need will be: 1. gel base coat 2. gel top coat (I’m using no wipe top coat. So if you don't have a no wipe top coat, then you will be doing different things when you put your top coat on) 3. the gel color of your choice. (i'm using Midnight Rendezvous by Sensationail) 4. a LED/UV lamp. 5. nail polish remover/Q-tips. Now one thing to keep in mind, is that it’s okay to get it on your skin, but be sure not to cure (dry) it, until all the polish is off of your skin. It wouldn't be t...

Nail Basics

Image
Hi everyone!! I'm so glad to finally start my own blog! My main focus with this blog, is to: 1. show you the basics (and some intricate things too!) of doing your nails at home. 2.  point out things that I wish I knew when I began, and things that I don't think are totally necessary. Just keep in mind, that all of my tips and advice, are just from my experiences, you might have a way that works better for you, but this is just what I've learned. Okay, enough blabbering, let’s get started! Alright, what you will need will be: base/ top coat      2. the nail polish color of your choice (I'm using Essie Beach Bum Blue)      3. nail polish remover/ Q-tips (or something small that will soak up remover)      4. dedication!! Okay, I know that last one is a little corny, but it’s true! Doing your own nails (especially trying to paint your dominant hand) takes a lot of focus, patience, ...
