french manicure

hey everyone! today we are going to be doing...french nails!!! and, if you don't know what french nails are, it's when you paint just the white part of your nail. and just hearing it, it doesn't sound that pretty (at least not to me) but once you see it, you'll LOVE it. and this design can be done in either gel, or regular polish. either one will work. today, I will be using regular polish. So, let's stop wasting time, and get started!!

what you will need will be:
1. base/top coat
2. color of your choice (french nails are traditionally white, but any color will look nice)
3.  a small paint brush
4. remover/Q-tips

now, you will begin by painting the top half of your nail and it doesn't matter if it's straight or not,we'll clean it up later. also, be sure that the pink part of your nail is completely clean. so be sure to scrub off any old polish that may be left from your last nail design.

now, take your thin paint rush, and dip it into some remover. then, (once the nail polish is dry)  use your wet paint brush, and create the smile line. which is the technically term for where the pink part of your nail meets the white.  so take you brush, and brush along the smile line. then (if necessary, which it probably will be) you can use a Q-tip to help clean up the nail, and to help even out the slime line.

then just put on a top coat. I will be using a matte top coat, which I think gives it an even more elegant look, but just regular top coat will work too.

there they are with regular top coat.

and there they are with matte top coat!

now you're done! If you want to give it that extra little sparkle, you could paint a little flower in the corner of one of your fingers, or just put some sparkles (I'll talk about applying sparkles in my next  post.) but whatever you decide to do, just take your time, and once you're done add another layer of either top coat, or matte top coat.
alright, I hope you enjoy!!!
please comment if you have any ideas for future posts, or any questions about this one.
thanks!
Bye-bye!
